Jinyiwei

"This fist moves mountains." - "This fist moves stars."

The Jinyiwei (aka Puño Gris) are the Emperor's secret police, put in place by Emperor Osvaldo to keep La Familia in power. They were based on Nuevo Chile after it was cut off from the rest of the Second Spanish Empire until the Continuum of Makers took it over. They are described by Taneel as "the secret police even the secret police don't know about." Orla O'Malley is a member of the Jinyiwei serving on the Machito.

Structure

The Jinyiwei are directly subordinated to the emperor. Other than that, Familia have no authority over them. There is coordination between the Jinyiwei and the imperial director of intelligence. The Jinyiwei are headquartered in a panopticon in Brussels, Belgium, and previously had a second panopticon in Talca, Nuevo Chile. Jinyiwei are organised strictly militarily. Known ranks include
