The Jinyiwei (aka Puño Gris)[1] are the Emperor's secret police, put in place by Emperor Osvaldo to keep La Familia in power.[2] They were based on Nuevo Chile after it was cut off from the rest of the Second Spanish Empire[3] until the Continuum of Makers took it over.[4] They are described by Taneel as "the secret police even the secret police don't know about."[5] Orla O'Malley is a member of the Jinyiwei serving on the Machito.
