Transcript

  • Filia: Ahmis.
  • Filia: Home at last, to Circle's End.
  • Ahmis: You have me at a disadvantage. Have we met?
  • Filia: We have, when I was very young.
You were a guest speaker in my province, and I was a young Seeker desperate to hear a talk from the great Maker.
  • Ahmis: Ah. You honor me.
  • Filia: I did. But not today.
Today I come to you not as that Seeker, but as Keeper of the Hall of Spirits.
  • Ahmis: Keeper?! But how did you...
  • Filia: While my genetics might have failed me, there were Makers that never did. They ignored the ancient strictures, and showed me a path I could walk with footfalls all my own.
  • Filia: A few key words of encouragement, and my path was changed.
In one century, I moved from Seeker to Maker, and from Maker to Keeper of the Hall itself! I sit now in the Colegium, serving as counsel to Maker Primes.
  • Filia: I bowed to you that day, Ahmis, as you exited your speech.
  • Filia: And you... paused.
    Stopped to take me in.
  • Filia: Our people can be so cruel, that I didn't know what to expect from you. But you whispered words of kindness. A gift freely given, to a Seeker desperately in need of a gift.
Which breaks my heart, that we have arrived at this day.
    TAKE HIM AWAY!
  • [Filia stares grumpily]
  • Filia: [whispering] "Your birth is not your future," you whispered.
  • Filia: [whispering] "Never forget that you are the omnipotent narrator of your life."
