Adding images to articles

How would I go about adding an image to a species article? For characters, you can just use the template, but I don't think we have any precedent for species. Thoughts? Sensorfire (talk) 09:12, 25 October 2017 (PDT)

BlockAndNuke

How do you use Special:BlockAndNuke? I would, but it worries me that everything on that page is checked by default. I looked at the MediaWiki page, but I still don't really get it.

Right. Yes. That would block every single user. What I do is, I tick off the first one, scroll all the way to the bottom, press shift and tick off the last one. This unchecks all checkboxes, like you would mark multiple files with the shift key+click on your computer file system. Next, I usually open all spam users in a new tab, copy the names and Ctrl+F through Blockandnuke and check the respective checkbox. Next, click "Block Users". Then, click "Block and Nuke". And then, and I don't know why, but it doesn't actually do it yet, so reload the page and your browser should tell you that you filled out a form etc., so you select "Resend" in Firefox or "Continue" in Chrome to resend the form request. If necessary, refresh again until you see "Nothing to do!" as a message.

I've written MC, we'll have to see if he can fix things for us.

The new account situation

Obviously, it's problematic that new user accounts can't be created right now- this is a wiki, after all. Though we don't get much in terms of new users in general, it would be unpleasant if a prospective new editor couldn't sign up at all for an extended period of time. For this reason it is of vital importance that something be done to remedy the situation.
